Single Wire 49 to 1 UNUN
Here we go again. Yep - you can also wind the popular 49 (or 64) to 1 UNUNs with a single wire. You actually get a better performing transformer than the traditional two wire method.
Didn't bore you with every detail, so if you missed the 9:1 UNUN video it's here: ua-cam.com/video/K3d-IvIFxj8/v-deo.html

Single Wire UNUNs - a quick 9 to 1

Came up a couple of times recently that I don't wind UNUNs - especially the 9:1 - the same way as most folks are taught. Here's my method.
Charging Li Batteries in the Car
Переглядів 1,2 тис.2 роки тому
I wanted a solution for charging Li-chemistry batteries (LiFePO4 mostly) in the car. Commercial chargers are pricy! This solution uses inexpensive boards from Amazon to deal with the random voltages in a car and the charging characteristics of a lithium battery. If you want to 3D print a case, here's a nifty viewer submitted design (Thanks Charlieray!!!). www.thingiverse.com/thing:5092874 Chapt...

LiFePo4 Battery Build using LiitoKala 32700 cells

Based on a series of tests done over at the electronicsNmore channel (ua-cam.com/video/uyAtkGaO0hA/v-deo.html) I decided to build myself another battery for ham radio use. These cells are marked 7000mAh, but their spec sheet says 6500 and that seems to be more realistic. The spec sheet also says 30A continuous discharge, so that's what I built the pack for BUT check the tests over at electronic...

Cheap-O Power Meter Accuracy Improvements

I bought one of the inexpensive DC power meters readily available on the Interwebs to keep track of how much juice is left in my batteries. Turns out that, surprise surprise, the current measurement is off enough that the calculated power utilization isn't going to work for me. This is the explanation of how the meter measures current, and what can be done to alter the measurements. Since we ha...

Outdoor Power Distribution for LED lights

5:20 Which wire can make the best reception possible? Can solid non insulated wires make better reception in bad conditions or it doesn't matter? Does the height of the antenna stand matter? I want to have it outdoor to minimalize EMI. Do I really need variable capacitor when I will connect using coaxial cable? Is the grounding important or not that much? My hifi have loop antenna terminal connector. Will it work if I connect coaxial cable?

Thanks for the video. Where do you measure your lengths to ? i.e. is the length of the tuning stub measured from the top of the stub down to the top of the short horizontal piece or to the under side of the horizontal piece (when looking at the antenna in the upright position)?

They're not as heavy as you might think. They can be moved with the machines still on them, or obviously you can disconnect the machines and take them off.

Lost a tire tread on my motorhome. The road service guy showed up with a 2 Ton floor jack. I found my bottle jack had fallen over and leaked all over the compartment that I rarely dig into. I could only get a few inches of travel but was able to screw the threaded cap up and got the tires off the ground (duallie). I have now bled it and put it back in the cabinet and wedged it. I knew how to do this 60 years ago but you can see by my gray hair that some of my grey matter has left the enclosure! Tks for the reminder.

Thank you I knew a choke and filter capiciter were needed some how to smooth the flow of the ripple. I've saw a lot of guys just slapping a bridge on the front of an ac welder, and I'm like there's gotta be a cap or something in there. But i didn't know where in the circuit or values. I'm currently working on a lincoln ac 225 tombstone stick welder. Any advice is greatly appreciated. God bless.

When I did this I found that the half inch lip was a narrow on my test cut. So I made a free-hand pass with the router to make the lip bigger and the opening smaller. Edit: I did not bother bolting mine to the table so I can pull it out and change the speed, the lift sits inside of a box with a dust collection port.

so I just did the exact same thing with mine. What I was wondering is I installed a 1/2" bit and cannot loosen it to get it out, I didn't want to damage the neralling so I was hoping for an easy answer, I guess I am going to have to grab the neralling with a big pair of channel locks and go for it.

Would it be better to use a metal on metal like the diamond bit or a metal file type bit such as used in the automotive grinding tools every time I use the orange or the gray grinding wheels the material eats up the wheel so those types of stones really aren't that effective at removing lots of metal

I did one that is 4x4 feet with 4 turns. It worked quite well. My method involved no drilling. or glue I suggest others copy the idea. Imagine you are holding some PVC pipe in your left hand wit a T on top of it. You pass the wire on the side close to you below the T loop it around the T and to behind the pipe in your hand. The result is a wire that doesn't want to slip off the T. This is how I did the 4 corners of the frame. It works fine.

I have had this sander for over 10 years used occassionally i even forgot and left it outside in a light rain once it is a bit underpowered and as stated the v belt tension is super critical. You need some basic mechanical and trouble shooting skills to set up these imported luckily there are Utube how to videos on how to set up and used most any H/F corded power tools. Lately Harbor Freight has risin a lot of its prices and a lot of WEN tool which are a notch higher in qualiy and service. For our budget minded Candian friends buying WEN corded tools off Amazon might be a viable option.

A common saying used to describe the proper power pole orientation is “red right, tongue top” where “tongue” refers to the metal contact inside the plastic shell. Thus, looking at the open end of the connector, just as you do, the red goes on the right and oriented such that the tongue is at the top of the opening. I suppose there are any number of ways to describe the orientation.
